“Não voltaria e não recomendo, infelizmente”

The spot is right in the middle of the mountain chain, which is fantastic, but the whole place feels abandoned – there was no sign when we arrived, so we had no idea if anyone was actually there. The room and bathroom were tiny and would flood the whole space as soon as you took a shower; the shared bathrooms are even worse. Breakfast was just a few slices of bread and some cake, and we spent a cold, windy search trying to find where to get coffee because nothing was labeled.

We got there just as the sun was setting, and while there isn’t much around, the scenery is stunning and the night sky—just moon and stars—was unforgettable. Jessica was incredibly friendly and whipped up a tasty dinner so we didn’t have to hunt for food elsewhere. The only downside was that they only take cash; a credit‑card option would have been nice.

This spot up in the high Mendoza mountains is truly one‑of‑a‑kind, offering real comfort and warmth despite the harsh surroundings. Both the host and the facilities are spot‑on, making the whole experience feel flawless. I’d give it a perfect ten.

The peace here is incredible, set in an old railway with a lot of history, and Jessica took care of us with a delicious dinner when nothing was open on the Argentine side. We’d just come from Santiago heading to Portillo, so the meal was a lifesaver. It would be even better if the kitchen had a microwave.
