The staff were super sweet and helpful, especially Hilary who was the best; the food was decent but not outstanding. There was a lack of variety, and sometimes the fruits and cheese were not fresh at all. I even spotted insects in the room.

The family bungalow was very well equipped for a lodge. Breakfast and dinner were flawless, and the staff were courteous. Our 12‑year‑old grandchildren were impressed. In the morning, impalas and baboons passed right by the private pool, and hornbills perched directly on the terrace railing. Behind the terrace, a large broken pane lay in the dirt. The lodge does not respond to last‑minute requests for activities; safaris, etc., must be booked in advance. We had to arrange our own safari, fortunately knowing a Selous ranger. Whether this location will continue to showcase the great nature once the runway for large aircraft opens remains to be seen.

The rooms and the private pool are very nice. Unfortunately, the staff speak very poor English, creating major communication barriers. The lunch boxes left over from Africa were terrible—too little, the fruit was rotten, and there was no cutlery. The staff were also not particularly friendly. We booked a bush walking tour and had to wait almost 60 minutes for our guide, which isn’t a big deal on its own, but for a place called Luxury Camp at that price it’s unacceptable. The activities offered by the lodge are also extremely expensive. The lodge also had no accommodation for our guide. Overall, a very disappointing stay; it was the most expensive lodge we stayed at during our 14‑day Tanzania trip with eight total lodges, and it was by far the worst.

The staff’s friendliness and attention were outstanding, and the rooms and every detail the staff handled were a delight.

Everything was perfect: the waiters, the cooks, the food was very good. The rooms are nice and clean, and the place is a very cool spot to stay. We didn’t like the way we were treated at checkout by the short black manager; he was very rude and talked to us as if we were sleeping for free, which made us unhappy.
