“They made us pay twice!”

They made us pay for our stay twice. They charged me with my debit card at check‑out and then also charged the pre‑authorized amount on my credit card. I’ve been trying for two months to get my money back. The amount in question is about CDN 1,000, so we were charged almost CDN 2,000 for our stay! Every attempt to contact the property directly—by email, phone, call or attendant—remained unanswered. Any property that takes its customers seriously would react and reimburse the double amount. Any property that does its accounting properly would notice and reimburse the double amount. Also, every attempt on behalf of us was half‑hearted and ambiguous (“Please submit this,” “Now we also need that,” “Booking will reimburse on behalf of the property,” “Booking will not reimburse on behalf of the property”). If Booking took its customers seriously, it would unlist any property that acts like this. As it stands, it is no longer Castle Rock Country Inn for us, unless we are convinced otherwise.

“Nicht zu empfehlen, abgewöhnt und nicht sauber”

I liked the location and the nice breakfast room, but the room was dirty – glasses and mugs were grimy, the windows were sealed with tape so they couldn’t be opened, and the bathtub wasn’t clean.

The view was nice and breakfast was good, but the bed creaked.

The location was convenient and the staff were helpful, though the bed creaked a bit, I still slept well.
