“Disappointing”
The building and surrounding grounds look lovely, and the lady who worked in the restaurant at dinner was very good—she should manage the place. The food was also very good. The rooms, however, needed a desperate deep clean; the shower had orange bacteria everywhere, which is unacceptable for a 5‑star hotel. The bathroom blinds, curtains, and sofa all needed cleaning, and it seemed like no one ever cleaned them. We changed rooms, but the new one was only slightly better cleaned, with outdated and smelly furniture. Some staff need more training; the hotel feels badly managed, though the housekeeping and dinner staff were all nice. Before you even finish the question, the answer is no. Today was Holi festival; they arranged outside entertainment but didn’t inform us beforehand that we could join. We wanted to participate, but the manager made it very difficult, almost as if they didn’t want more people. We got tickets from a lady who organized the party—she was lovely—but the whole coordination between the hotel and the party organizers was bad. We walked outside to put luggage in the car outside the gate, and on the way back they wouldn’t let my partner keep his cigarette, saying we needed to buy from the party at 750, so he bought from a shop for 200—honestly a joke. A card activation fee of 100 rupees and slow service, even though there weren’t many people inside, left us stuck for two hours. Really disappointing overall; I would not stay here again unless the management changes. It’s a shame because the place has loads of potential, and international cards are a problem here as well.
