The staff were friendly and helpful even though they were clearly very busy, the outdoor grounds were nice, there were plenty of Japanese food options, and the excursion to Lake Ashi was excellent. We had great weather but it felt damp; corners in rooms and bathrooms looked dusty and damp, the women's bath on the 6th floor smelled damp, a private bath was available, and the mini‑golf up the hill was terribly smelly.

The ryokan felt like a theme park, I stayed only one night but had a lot of fun and would definitely come back.

The onsen, the food and the cleanliness of the facilities were great, but the room lighting could be brighter and the bed wasn’t fully made.

Both breakfast and dinner were buffet style, letting us pile our plates with plenty of seafood, and we also enjoyed comics, massages, the dining hall, even a shrine and a waterfall during our stay; the 24‑hour shop was a nice touch. Occasionally orders didn’t arrive, which made me wonder whether the dining staff were coordinating well, and since we were there for two nights a coin‑laundry would have been helpful – the convenience store and shop feel redundant, so swapping the store for laundry space would be appreciated.
