Located in the heart of Rockhampton, Mercure Rockhampton overlooks the picturesque Fitzroy River and features an outdoor pool. The hotel offers 24-hour reception and complimentary WiFi. It's a short drive from the airport and a great base for exploring the Great Keppel Island and Capricorn Coast.

Easy to find and comfortable for a quick stay. The air‑con vent made a noisy ticking sound that was quite annoying, and the TVs are old so there’s no option to log into streaming services, which would be a better upgrade for longer stays.

The room and bathroom need refurbishment; it’s not even close to a 3‑star hotel.

The bed was fine. The man on shift seemed annoyed and irritated when I asked him where exactly the parking was in the other car park; he didn’t explain that you had to look on the ground for the map, and he was irritated that he had to walk out of the office to show me the car‑parking situation. Breakfast food was not great at all: the bacon was sloppy and crispy, everything else was soggy.

The location was fine if you want to be close to restaurants and pubs, but the value for money was very poor. The staff did their jobs but poorly, and the cleaners missed refilling our cups on two of the three days. The room felt very basic for the price.
