“Absolutely wonderful.”

This historic palace sits right in the middle of Sarzana, and while parking is limited and needs pre‑booking, the rooms are outstanding, especially for those who appreciate old‑style décor; Napoleon, his wife, and Pope Pio VII have all stayed here, the bathroom is external to the room but private and luxurious, each room has tea/coffee making facilities and a mini fridge, and a nice balcony on the top floor lets you relax, soak up the sun, or simply sip your tea.

I stayed in a room in a historic building and the atmosphere felt very unique, but the bathroom was not in the room.
