“Modern Upscale Posing, could use a little work.”
The hotel was well put together in a good spot near the music venue, and the room was spacious, comfortable, and very modern. The breakfast was okay, but it was confusing—no clear direction or help on how to navigate the breakfast area. A gentleman ran breakfast alone, with maybe someone in the back helping with prep or cooking. He tried to explain the specialty menu items, which we weren’t sure were included in our reservation, so we politely declined and looked for other items like French pastries, frittatas, fruit, specialty juices, and honey for tea and bagels. The coffee was empty, most juices were gone, and many pastries were dry and stale. We ended up sitting in a quieter side of the dining area to enjoy breakfast just the two of us, but the staff said we were at a table usually reserved for businessmen and women for morning meetings—no signs or anyone to guide us—so it felt a bit unwelcome. Then they brought a bill and said it would be an added expense for breakfast, even though I had prepaid for two at check‑in, which made me worry about being double‑charged and left me feeling even more unwelcome.
