The food was tasty, the staff were friendly and the welcome was good, but during my three‑day stay the room never got cleaned or tidied, the sheets even showed a few stains. Even though the lodge is fairly new, the room – especially the bathroom – looked worn and uncared for, and the beers listed at 12 reais on the price board ended up costing 17 reais when I settled the bill.

The stay at Paroá Amazon Lodge was simply amazing. The lodge sits fully immersed in nature, in a truly isolated spot with no other lodges nearby, which makes the experience even more authentic and evocative. The package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, and every meal was always exquisite—probably the best we ate during our trip to Brazil. We also really liked how the menus varied from day to day, and each meal featured a dessert. The real highlight of the lodge, however, was the excursions and activities organized by our legendary guide Erwin. The activities were diverse and all very interesting, letting us discover the wonders of the Amazon from different angles. We especially appreciated that the groups were always very small: sometimes just the two of us, other times at most four more people. That made the excursions much more enjoyable and personalized. Erwin also speaks very good Italian, as well as several other languages, which was a great help in understanding his explanations about nature, wildlife and the surrounding environment. Overall, the entire lodge team was extremely helpful, kind and welcoming. A special shout‑out to Felipe, who speaks excellent English and was a truly excellent host.

The people who took me, the place, and the tranquility were great. There were moments when we were sailing down the river for no reason, just to make sure we didn’t arrive at the lodge before the scheduled time.

I recently stayed at a secluded jungle lodge, far removed from the hustle and bustle of civilization. The comfortable, clean, and healthy local environment was a welcome respite, with friendly staff always on hand to cater to my needs. It's worth remembering that this tranquil oasis is nestled deep in the jungle, a nearly three-hour drive from the nearest city. Despite the lengthy journey, the experience was well worth the effort.
