“Perfect place for an authentic experiece in Rio”

If you’re after a real Rio feel, this place hits the mark. The room is bright and artistic, and the view from the window is stunning. Patricia is a friendly, chatty host who really cares about her guests. Santa Teresa is a lively, non‑touristy neighborhood, and I’d definitely come back.

“Agradável e aconchegante”

The spot is great – close to the city center, bus terminal, and airport. The house is cozy, and the host is super attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. The only downside is the shared bathroom, but everything else matched the listing.

Breakfast was just coffee, bread, butter, and a slice of papaya or mango. It’s more of a B&B than a hotel, and you’d have to share the bathroom if there are other guests. The site said there was parking, but there isn’t; we had to leave the car on the street where spots were scarce because the owner turned the garage into a garden. On Saturday night a party raged from 6 pm until 7 am, so we couldn’t sleep, and we had to drive back on Sunday.

“The most lovely host and a beautiful house”

Patricia is a sweetheart who makes you feel at home and speaks English, so communication is a breeze. The house is gorgeous, especially the balcony with hammocks where you can relax. Santa Teresa is a great neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and cafés within walking distance, though the steep streets mean you might have to be patient with Uber drivers. Getting back at the end of the day is easy, just a short walk or taxi to the metro.
