The staff were helpful and friendly, and the food was fantastic. However, during my two‑night stay the room was not serviced; there were no clean towels, no tea or coffee, and the toiletries were not refreshed.

The carvery and breakfast were excellent, staff were very helpful, the bed was comfortable, and overall it was a pleasant stay. The town itself didn’t offer much in terms of dining or pubs.

The room was a good size and there was a private car park. Checking in required completing a new paper form. The pub restaurant in the hotel served very poor meals, got all orders wrong and didn’t acknowledge them. I waited for reception staff to check out for a while, gave up and left keycards on the reception desk as others had done, but then kept receiving messages to complete the checkout process and that additional nights would be charged.

The hospitality was excellent, the food superb, and the carvery lovely.
