“Cute canaside hide-away in Amsterdam”

Such a cute space with amazing views, comfortably furnished and well thought‑out use of limited space. The modern bathroom and lovely little coffee space were nice, and it’s central to everything – easy walking distance from Centraal station with many eateries and “drinkeries” around. Good air‑con and communication with the host was easy and prompt. Not really for self‑catering, but close to so many restaurants and eateries that it doesn’t matter. Three flights of very steep, narrow stairs – don’t bring large luggage. Not many windows to open for fresh air (quite warm). Not much space for your luggage and extras when unpacked and settled in.

“Living like a local”

Once inside the apartment it is really charming. It had everything I needed for a comfortable stay and the location was brilliant, looking out onto a canal and close to the train station and centre of things. I could almost pretend to be living like a local. Roos very kindly arranged for me to check in a little early which was much appreciated. The three flights of stairs were very steep and the communal part of the building shabby. Once inside the apartment it was completely different though. The shower flooded on my last day. The microwave was very complicated and it took until the second day before I could work it out. I downloaded a manual from the internet. It turned out it was stuck on ‘showroom demo’ mode and once I worked out how to switch that off it worked fine. A provided manual would have been good

I loved sitting with a tea and looking out over the canal. It was super close to so many things, restaurants, the train station, museums, shops. The unit is cozy but very comfortable. Even though it was close to everything it was quite quiet at night. The only thing that we found a bit challenging was getting our 40lb suitcases up and down the steep, narrow stairs
