“Quite basic but still had a good stay”

A very quirky accommodation in a treehouse‑like loft above the reception/shop area of this eco site. Beautiful surroundings. The ablutions are separate but near enough. Lovely hot shower. Bar fridge, microwave and kettle in the room. Good value for money, you get what you pay for. It was sufficient for us though as we were out during the day and just needed a place to sleep and shower. The bed was only just adequate enough and is probably due for a replacement.

“Won't stay there again”

Basic and very interesting. Our booking was messed up. We ended up in a tent after paying for a room with an unsuitable setup. My son was moved from his tent where we ended up to a very basic tent and had to sleep on the ground with a mattress. We were refunded our money for his stay.

“Künstlerhaus mitten im Wald”

We spent Christmas as a five‑person family in the Cob Cottage (my daughter affectionately calls it the “Schlumpfhaus”). The house is individually furnished, so there’s something interesting in every corner. The kitchen offers a basic setup for self‑catering. Otherwise, there’s also tasty stone‑oven pizza at the restaurant, which stayed open through Christmas, and we had a pleasant chat with Elizabeth and her son. The forest setting is impressive and healing, and a swim in the “Swimming Hole” felt amazing. The market has a welcoming, quiet vibe with friendly vendors. The kids spent a lot of time at the water, discovering fish and other creatures. It’s almost flat everywhere, so it’s suitable for non‑swimmers too. The terrace provides privacy through the landscaping and has plenty of seating. We had a nice Christmas fire; wood can be bought (though it’s still damp and not easy to light). The room on the upper floor (where the extra single bed is) is very spacious and close to nature (geckos, etc.). The stairs are steep, so I wouldn’t recommend the room for toddlers. Yellowwood Forest is definitely worth a visit! We’ll probably come back. I would not recommend the milkshake at the restaurant (artificial) and true coffee lovers should grind their own beans. The mattresses have the quality of a high‑end campground, so don’t expect too much comfort.

Great nature environment and friendly staff. The toilet facility is too open, not very private, and needs a better indicator to show if it’s occupied.
