“Baufällige ungepflegte Unterkunft.”
The proximity to the beach would have been great, but you have to cross a heavily trafficked street or take a 15‑minute detour to the next traffic light. The place was in disrepair when I stayed, giving an extremely unkempt vibe. Dead flies on the window sills, insect larvae, spiders and nets everywhere, mold, rust… Luckily I only had one night there. I slept in my clothes. I skipped breakfast for hygiene reasons. Communication was unfriendly and unhelpful from the start. An early check‑in for luggage would have cost extra, which I declined because the room seemed overpriced compared to others. (Alternatively, a central hotel was offered for luggage storage.) At the agreed 15:00 check‑in, no one was there. The front door was open (the glass panes were broken and full of spiders and nets, spooky). In the construction pit behind the house in the garden, a worker was present but spoke neither French nor English, let alone German. After a long back‑and‑forth, he called a responsible person. All in all, it took about 30 minutes until I finally got my room key. The first‑floor room was accessed by a narrow winding staircase. With luggage, after already having to climb several steps without a ramp, it was not fun. When I complained that no one could help if there was no lift, I was shouted at by a very aggressive person on the phone, saying that in a "villa" there would never be a lift. The room was overloaded with a tasteless jumble of furniture from a flea market, an oversized sofa blocked the wardrobe, and the psychedelic wallpaper behind it made the overall impression even worse. The bathroom lighting didn’t work in the back part near the toilet. Maybe that’s better.
