The location was excellent, the hosts were super nice 👍 the room was clean and well equipped.
We came to Maramureș for the first time specifically to see and ride the Mocănița, and Pensiunea Bârsan was the perfect choice for us! The station is very close – you can walk there in just 5 minutes, calmly. One of the most beautiful and amusing things is that every day you can see the Mocănița passing just half a meter from the room’s window! So the experience doesn’t end after the train ride – for a few days you can watch it pass right by the inn. That was part of the vacation charm for us. The hosts were very welcoming and kind. A huge bonus is the inn’s puppy! It’s incredibly friendly, affectionate, and always seems to smile. It comes to greet guests as if it’s genuinely happy to see each person who arrives. I think it’s impossible not to fall in love with it! 😊 The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the communal kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you could need. Nearby there are a few restaurants that are easy to reach on foot and where you can eat well. The photos and description on Booking match reality exactly. We were very satisfied with both the accommodation and our whole trip to Maramureș. If we ever come back here, we’ll definitely choose Pensiunea Bârsan again. ❤️
The room was nice and spacious, the balcony was great, breakfast on demand cost 40 Lei per person. The price for breakfast was too high for the value.

The spot is fairly close to Mocăniței station, which is a real plus. Regarding the accommodation itself, it was largely acceptable. The kids especially had a blast with the dog “Gălușcă”. However, the reality was quite far from the images on booking. One of the beds is actually two single beds with a noticeable gap between the mattresses; the nightstands were poorly placed and unusable (though I think much of that is due to previous guests); the wardrobe looks aged and gives the impression of falling apart; the toilet is not at all impressive – the whole toilet + tank and especially the reservoir are not “ready to use” and require constant adjustments. There might be more, but I don’t feel it’s necessary to list them.
