The air conditioning worked well, but the security number for the narrow entrance was a hassle.
I was a bit nervous after reading reviews, but after staying one night it was actually very pleasant. We had a big clean room all to ourselves and the location was excellent; honestly for a night or two you can’t beat it. The “kitchen” was probably the most grim thing I’ve seen in a long time… if you stay here, just know that cooking or even boiling water isn’t an option. There were also plastic bottles overflowing in the bin, and I didn’t see anyone working there. It felt like everything was automated to cut costs.
The location was good, but the price was outrageous for the state of the facilities.
“Cheap Asylum”
The place was very cheap and the bad reviews actually helped my stay because I could sleep alone in a room and it turned out to be the best sleep I had in my 20‑day trip; the AC was great since there were no windows, like a prison (no joke). Inside, it felt like an asylum with no staff; when I tried to get an early check‑in to drop off my luggage, they wouldn’t let me and only sent me a code to enter, which was funny. I think they clean the beds but I’m not sure because the area that looked like a kitchen wasn’t actually one, and the uncertainty about cleanliness didn’t help the WC and showers, even though they seemed okay to me. I don’t think a girl would feel safe in this place, just saying it. Even though you can lock your room, it’s still very small for four people and has no windows, so it’s terrible. Booking this place was dumb because everything closes early, yet you still have time to go to Hiroshima (I thought I could take a train from Miyajima to Fukuoka, but there wasn’t one, so there was no reason for me to stay in Miyajima at all, especially since you still need to go to Hiroshima to get around).
From Miyajima‑guchi Station, the room was upgraded right away and I could go up to the roof. However, there were pig‑like guests who didn’t clean the shared kitchen and other spaces.
