“Amazing place”

The building is stunning, the staff are fabulous, and the food quality is amazing. Nothing else to say.

“Fabulous Little Break.”

The hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. The staff were as attentive as they could be and took great care of us. We brought a dog, and although we couldn’t go into certain areas, they accommodated us in every way they could. When we sat outside in the sheltered area, they supplied throws, heaters, and hot water bottles. It was a very nice experience. Because of our dog, we could only stay in a room with a balcony, but that added to the enjoyment as it was quiet and sunny. The grounds are beautiful and great for walking the dog. Colchester is a stone’s throw away, so it’s a terrific location.

The room is lovely and spacious. Breakfast was very nice indeed, and the staff were friendly. The shower was either boiling on the first night or freezing the next day. At check‑out the lady at reception seemed to imply there was a known fault, but that didn’t help me at the time of the shower.

“Clean ,most staff were lovely”

The view from the room was nice, but the balcony was not secure; you could go through to the other room’s balcony because the door was broken.

We stayed in the new wing. The room was very good. Restaurant - food and service were excellent. Reception staff and restaurant staff were courteous and helpful
