The location was perfect
The room was spotlessly clean, albeit simple
The staff's warm hospitality and attention to detail set the tone for a fantastic experience.
The family who runs the stay is incredibly warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home.

Perfect place to stay while visiting Yala National Park: a big, clean room, a lovely owner who was very accommodating.
“Una estancia excepcional. Repetiría sin dudarlo”
This is exactly the kind of place I love to stumble upon while traveling. If you’re after a five‑star resort, skip it, but if you want a pleasant stay with direct contact to the owners (their family lives downstairs), you should definitely book here. The rooms are spacious and air‑conditioned, the breakfast was very good, and the owners were friendly. We went on a safari with the owner, which turned out perfectly—thanks to his knowledge of the park and persistence we spotted four leopards plus the usual wildlife. For dinner we arranged with the owners and the lady prepared an excellent meal at a fair price. The only downside was that the hot‑water in the shower didn’t work as well as I expected; the installation is there, I just couldn’t figure it out.
The place was clean, just like the photos, with air conditioning and comfortable beds. We initially had trouble locating it because it’s a private family home, and the water pressure was barely adequate.
“For someone who is looking for a truly authentic Sri Lankan hospitality”
I had an amazing time in Sri Lanka, and this place tops the list for me. The host family was incredibly kind and always ready to help. The food was authentically Sri Lankan, which I loved. Shine Park is perfect for anyone craving genuine local hospitality, and the location is convenient—just a few minutes' drive or a 20‑30 minute walk to the main attractions. On the downside, our room lacked a mosquito net and a towel rack, both essential in a tropical setting, and the door lock was broken. The room my parents stayed in did have a mosquito net and a functional lock, but the towel rack was still missing.
“kies wat anders”
We left feeling disappointed. The price seemed to be aimed at attracting people for the safari, but nothing worked out.
