“Etwas in die Jahre gekommenes Hotel mit guter Lage nach LU”

The room was partly modernly furnished. The doors are from another century, with two windows in the outer wall that both have to be opened one over the other? The room temperature was very high. The air‑conditioner was weak and also produced a loud, vibration‑like whine (not the typical compressor noise), which repeatedly startled us when trying to sleep. There was no 24‑hour reception and only one emergency number (you don’t want to be woken from bed just because the AC makes loud noises). We turned the AC off, but it still made the noise later and stayed very warm, so we slept poorly. We had specifically chosen a hotel in LU to arrive relaxed and rested for the first workday. The price was quite high for the room condition and the experience in the one night without breakfast; it might be cheaper at other booking times and thus better value. I would wish that, if possible, some renovations be carried out. The scent of soap was very unpleasant (probably a matter of taste, but I hadn’t experienced it before). The parking situation was very difficult in the evening; the hotel’s own parking lot was unfortunately overcrowded (on a Wednesday evening).

A smooth, friendly check‑in and comfortable beds made the arrival painless, but the hotel was fully booked and I had to park on a poorly lit public lot because no parking spaces were available.

The staff were incredibly kind, the breakfast was tasty, and the rooms were gorgeous – definitely a place I’d return to.
