Our stay at the hotel was wonderful. The owner was very sweet, handled all our issues personally, and even upgraded us to a higher level apartment, giving us an entire floor, a private kitchen, and a terrace. We had fans, a washing machine, a fridge, a comfortable mattress, and pillows. The beach and shop were nearby, and opposite a gas station there was an inexpensive local café with a green sign— the cheese cottage was good. We did lack shampoo and soap, but those were minor details.

Even after the booking was confirmed, they lied about it not being there. Liars.

I was handed a coconut juice, which was nice, but there was no trash bin and when I opened the toilet lid it wouldn’t stop, so I had to hold it back with my back.

The spot was decent and the people were friendly, but the room was really dirty: the lampshades were covered in dust, the walls and sheets were damp, the tap was filthy and the shower drain was grimy. I should have read more about the standard double room; later I saw someone else mention it was truly dirty and that the two mattresses were very soft, which unfortunately turned out to be true.
