“Lovely host, good location”

Location is spot on – close to everything, and at night it’s surprisingly quiet. The only hiccup is the lack of a lift – you gotta climb three flights with a heavy suitcase, which can be a drag. There’s some construction across the street, but they shut down early, so it doesn’t ruin the night.

The building looks solid, the vibe is chill, staff are friendly, and the overall atmosphere feels pleasant. The downside? The bathrooms are low‑grade, the sanitary state of the fixtures is rough, and the overall standard feels a bit low.

This hostel is a gem – tucked on a quiet street yet a stone’s throw from all the sights. The staff are friendly and helpful, the beds are super comfy, and the shower has great hot water pressure. They even throw in free water, and there’s a cute cat that makes the place feel even cozier.

Central in Xingping, this hostel is a solid choice. The staff speak little English but are still friendly and helpful. I loved the hikes board – it got me out on a fishing village trek and a sunset viewpoint. Rooms are clean and nice. The vibe wasn’t very social, but the common area is great, so maybe it was just my short stay.

“Nice”

The hotel is right in the middle of everything and the beds were surprisingly comfortable, plus the air‑conditioning actually worked. The only quirks were the squat‑style toilet – you can ask for a portable seat if you need one – and the fact there’s no lift, which made lugging luggage a bit of a workout. To make matters worse, housekeeping left our door unlocked and it stayed that way all day.
