“Une belle maison avec une vue imprenable sur Funchal”

A very beautiful place. A lovely house, well decorated, with a stunning view of Funchal. A nice garden and a large terrace. A hearty breakfast. Walking to Funchal takes less than 30 minutes without a car, and you can return by bus in 40 minutes. Very convenient. The reception was quick and efficient, but we had no one else around except the very kind lady who handled the breakfast. The overall vibe felt a bit cold; the house was beautiful but lacked soul, the décor was pretty but not warm. We would have liked to use the sun loungers on the last day and enjoy that great view, but there were no cushions as usual (the metal loungers were unusable without cushions). It was impossible to find any without staff on site… It’s a bit disappointing considering the price of the nights, which is still fairly high.

“Schöne kleine Unterkunft mit wunderbaren Ausblick.”

A large, clean, and very spacious room. Good breakfast. From our balcony we had a great view of Funchal and the harbor. There is a parking lot on the premises. The reception is only partially staffed, but they provided excellent information in advance, including a video for check‑in. A good local spot for dinner is nearby (though the walk is very steep).

The authenticity, the friendliness of the staff, and the breakfast were great. Our room was a bit dark and faced the back of the property, which was a shame because others had sea views.

Good location and great view. The house actually has charm. The breakfast was very simple. Staff were only available on weekdays for breakfast and they don’t speak English. Below the house is an external company. Employees met at 8.00 am to smoke and have loud conversations under our window. Because there is no air conditioning, you have to leave the windows open, so it’s noisy… For the setup it’s too expensive. A pity!
