I was thoroughly impressed with the hotel's location, right in front of the museum and just a 5-minute walk from the Park of Peace and the city center. The staff were incredibly attentive, despite their limited English, and did their best to accommodate our needs. However, our stay was marred by a boiler issue that left the entire floor without hot water, forcing us to use a makeshift solution with a bucket and the coffee maker.

I was really impressed with the reception staff's willingness to help us out when we realized we had left our CPAP machine suitcase on the bus. They made some calls in Japanese on our behalf, which was a huge relief. Their assistance was invaluable and made a stressful situation much more manageable.

I was pleasantly surprised by the staff's kindness during my stay, which was a highlight of my trip. However, I was disappointed to discover that my room reeked of cigarette smoke, which made my young daughter uncomfortable. I may have been at fault for not booking a smoke-free room, but I wish the hotel had done something to mitigate the smell.

My stay had its ups and downs - I loved the hotel's location and enjoyed the breakfast, but the room was ridiculously small for two larger people like my travel companion and me. The mattress wasn't as soft as I would have liked, but I did appreciate the convenience of the in-hotel shop. However, I felt that the front desk staff could have been more helpful, especially with navigating local transportation options. It would have also been great to have a shuttle service to and from the airport.
