Boutique Hotel Residenz Winkler

“Es gibt bessere Unterkünfte.”

The accommodation had a certain flair. Parking was a problem; the charging station was reserved and still blocked by a regular parker. The junior chef was very friendly, but the lady at reception was extremely unfriendly.

A wonderful place.

“Sehr schönes charmantes Hotel”

As always, everything was very nice. The new breakfast lady is a bit matter‑of‑fact. The taps in the bathtub are outdated and the shower head no longer stays in the holder; it fell onto my feet while I was showering. Oops.

“Fine dining experience, well below standard”

The location and property are well kept and picturesque. The Michelin‑star restaurant was very disappointing. One month in advance and before booking I asked if the kitchen could cater for pescatarian and dairy‑free options. They said, of course, no problem! On the night I was served three of the five dishes on the degustation menu with the same extremely bland beurre blanc sauce (butter‑based). After the second time I told the waiter that I’d had enough of the sauce because it was starting to make me feel a bit unwell, he let the kitchen know, but the chef couldn’t have cared less and served the exact same tasteless butter sauce one more time on the next meal. Since we only came and stayed at the residence to enjoy an acclaimed fine‑dining meal, it was much lower quality than described. I’d advise not to book if you have any dietary requirements, as it is obviously something the kitchen doesn’t care to accommodate adequately.

“Ich komme wieder.”

Das Frühstück war spitzenmäßig. Der Blick von der Terrasse aus auf die Kampenwand ist einmalig schön. Das ganze Hotel hat ein sehr elegantes und charmantes Flair
