I was greeted warmly and the breakfast was great, but after staying here for several years I noticed the hotel could use a bit of TLC, especially the carpet in the fourth‑floor hallway and the paint in several spots.

The décor was lovely, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooftop terrace—usable for breakfast among other things—was a real highlight, especially with the sustainability concept in place. The walk from the city centre to the hotel can feel a bit unpleasant at night, with dark and dirty alleys.

Breakfast lived up to the hype: excellent, well presented, and with healthy choices. The location was fine; Rossio Square is just a 10‑minute walk down, and the hill back up is doable at a relaxed pace. A taxi from the square is also reasonably priced. No complaints.
