The place is within walking distance of downtown and the shops, but the room wasn’t clean—someone’s socks were still on the floor, the light fixtures were dusty, and a used bar of soap lay on the bathtub floor.

The staff were warm and welcoming, making the hotel feel cozy and friendly.

The location was great for visiting Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and the Badlands; John at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful, and my grandsons loved the pool, though I couldn’t find a comfortable pillow and the mattress was too soft.

The beds were comfy, the breakfast was great, and the staff were friendly, leaving me very satisfied and awesome.

The hotel is conveniently near Mt. Rushmore and other attractions, but it’s so dated and clearly lacks upkeep—everything feels worn, the sheets were bare, the side tables next to the bed were dirty with stains, and the free breakfast was horrible, offering only unhealthy packaged foods except for some Greek yogurt and fruit; I wasn’t expecting a luxury property here, and it didn’t meet my expectations.
