The staff were our number one, but the room was just okay and SUPER small – we had six of us and it was hard to move around. The food was great and I loved the hang/dining area!

We booked this place for a unique spot on our three‑week honeymoon tour of NZ, and we absolutely loved the mountain location and the friendly staff. Dinner and breakfast were brilliant, and the night skies were insanely clear. The road up was a long gravel drive, but we had an SUV so it was no problem.

The views were exceptional, the staff friendly, and the food good. The restaurant/lounge area was large and comfortable. The bunk beds were not the most comfortable, and although it was a 6‑berth room in theory, it was only just comfortable for three with minimal luggage.

The staff were welcoming, helpful, and friendly, sharing lots of info about the area and making sure we were comfortable. I loved the mountain bike tracks right outside the door. The lodge was comfortable and the family restaurant great.
