The breakfast felt like the whole house was stuck in the early 1990s, a time when the hotel was probably a “top‑hotel” and the furnishings were very expensive back then. I couldn’t get the room’s air‑conditioner to work, so at 28.9 °C I couldn’t sleep, and the balcony door couldn’t stay open for fresh air because of the system. Only two other rooms were occupied besides ours. The owner spoke only Italian and didn’t understand any other language.

The rooms were clean, the restaurant had clean tablecloths, and the price‑to‑value ratio was correct; the staff were unfriendly and distant, it was impossible to program a code into the room safe because there was no red button on the inner door that the manual said you should press first, and there was no table lamp on the desk—when you want to write or read at night the existing lighting is too weak.
