The location in the downtown old city area. Hostal Central Toledo: A Ghost Hotel With a Sewer-Scented Spa Experience 👻 Welcome to Hostal Central, where hospitality is so minimalist that they have removed the hospitality altogether. 1. Receptionist? What receptionist? Check-in feels like entering a haunted house. No receptionist, no human presence, just you, your luggage, and the growing suspicion that the hotel has been abandoned since 1987. 2. The bathroom: Eau de Sewer 💩 The bathroom smells so strongly of sewage that breathing becomes an optional activity. Forget luxury toiletries. The real challenge is surviving long enough to brush your teeth. Worst thing - the floor was so uneven, the door wasn't closing!!!! 3. The luxury amenities of absolutely nothing. No hairdryer. No iron. Not even the possibility of buying a cup of coffee. There was even a sign explaining how to use the coffee machine, but no coffee machine anywhere in sight. Ghost coffee, perhaps? Apparently, the concept of hospitality here is to provide four walls and let guests figure out the rest of their lives independently. 4. Complimentary cigarette smoke. 🚬 Some guests smoke with their windows open, generously sharing the experience with everyone else. Who needs an air freshener when you can enjoy a communal tobacco atmosphere? 5. Soundproofing by imagination alone. The doors and walls are so thin that you can hear practically everything happening around you. Sleeping peacefully is an extreme sport. Bring XXL earplugs, noise-cancelling headphones, and perhaps a small prayer. Final verdict: If you've ever wondered what it would be like to sleep in a haunted building above a sewer, with complimentary cigarette smoke and the soundtrack of every neighbouring room, this is your place. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable, peaceful hotel with basic amenities and actual hospitality, look elsewhere. One star, and only because zero stars wasn't an option. ⭐
