The property sits close to the waterfront, bars, and restaurants, but there is no elevator, so hauling a suitcase up the narrow stairs is quite inconvenient. The room had neither soap nor shower gel, and when I asked the host for help they said it had never happened before and I had to buy it myself, which was frustrating after a long trip at night. Construction directly opposite the building gets very noisy starting at 8 AM.

Check‑in was easy once I got in touch with the owner; he responded quickly (he had an old email, so I didn’t get the instructions right away). Though I never met him, all communication was via WhatsApp and the housekeeper delivered something I asked for in the morning before we returned in the afternoon. The property was recently refurbished, everything was in good condition, and the room was just big enough for the double bed. Tea and coffee facilities were available, the shower was good with plenty of hot water, and soaps, towels, and a hair dryer were provided. The location was excellent, just off the front road of the old town quayside, a 1‑minute walk to many restaurants, bars, and shops, yet it was quiet. A couple of minor things: I could only dry towels after showering if I hung them out of the window (which we did), and there was no bedside light so I had to get up to turn off the main light.
