Sekhar and Kalpana were very welcoming, the room was spacious and clean, and Kalpana’s food was great! The house sits in Kirtipur, far from Kathmandu’s center but in a much quieter spot. It was quite cold at night, which is normal in January, and the bathroom had hot water, so overall it was fine.

This family‑run hotel is perfect for anyone who wants to stay near Kathmandu without the noise and pollution; it’s on the valley’s edge, making it a good launch point for hikes to nearby hills. Located in Kirtipur, one of the historic Newar cities, the historical center and the central TU campus are both within walking distance. All staff were very helpful, and Kalpana’s food was really good too.

The people were lovely. I had breakfast and dinner there, it was very nice and even catered to special diets! I felt like part of the family.

The family was very welcoming and kindly provided an electric blanket and a delicious dinner… The mother also organizes cooking classes. The place is clean and very quiet.
