“Obscene price for a less-than-basic hotel”
The TV and Wi‑Fi worked, and there were soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and hot water. The price was outrageous for such a basic hotel with terrible service. I got there late in the afternoon and asked about dinner, only to be told I had to pre‑order it. When I asked how I would know that, the receptionist had no answer. She eventually served me a lukewarm, bland dahl soup and two small, lukewarm, oily vegetable curries with rice, which I ate because I was starving and had no other choice. When I booked, I checked the box for the hotel shuttle, but they never responded to my calls, emails, or messages. Every time someone else used the water, a loud noise echoed in my room, and I didn’t want to hear that repeatedly. The fridge in the room was noisy, and despite the high room rate, there was no bottle of water waiting for me upon arrival. There’s also a shocking 4 % surcharge on all card payments.

The staff were very lovely and helpful, the location and gardens were beautiful, and the suite I stayed in was spacious with good amenities. It’s a little farther from the city, but only a short taxi ride or a 30‑minute walk.
