The staff answered questions politely and arranged a tuk‑tuk to the airport for 300 pesos per person, which is about the same as asking around the city. Breakfast was simple. The bathroom with toilet and shower had a sewage smell that was obvious as soon as you opened the room; the odor drifted into the room, so I sprayed deodorizer. Because it was cheap, the room’s cleanliness was not to be expected. It was also a bit far from the city.

I was pleased with the unlimited hot water, but the sheets and towels were stained or torn, and the breakfast was very limited; you have to pay extra for everything from water to ham. Some staff were very unfriendly and spoke poor English, which made communication difficult despite our efforts. Thousands of tiny ants crawled into our bedding, leaving us with bites all over!

The water was hot, which is appreciated in the country, but the hotel was far from Coron’s city centre. The accommodation was dirty: towels were stained and the bathroom glasses were also soiled. The pool was so filthy that you couldn’t see the bottom.
