“Never coming back”

The shared kitchen was spotless, and the spot was a decent walk from the beach. However, the staff wore pajamas and behaved unprofessionally, never handing us the access key, forcing us to call each time we returned. Our room was infested with roaches, the towels were stained, and when we requested replacements they dismissed it, insisting the stains were impossible to remove. The shower took forever to drain, the pool was filthy, and they switched our reservation at the last minute, giving us a different room than the one we had booked.

They swiped my cash, claimed a room was available, but when we arrived they said the rooms were full and never refunded me.

“Poor service, nice building”

There was no breakfast included. The receptionist’s customer service was poor; you had to ask for anything and she didn’t bother to help, and there was no warm welcome. The bedding was filthy, as if it had been there for months.

I really liked the pool. The location was quiet and discreet, yet still close to downtown Davenport and public transport. The facilities were worn and dirty; some should no longer be used in a guesthouse. There were no trash cans in the rooms or bathrooms, and I saw roaches in several places, which was very unpleasant. The air‑conditioner might have existed once, but now it’s just holes that let roaches in. When it’s hot outside, the room turns into a sauna and mosquitoes thrive. The staff seemed clueless about hospitality, which ruined the experience.
