“Safe and quiet location but needs some serious TLC”
I stayed in a place that was safe, with roomy rooms, a balcony, and a nice pool, and the staff were pretty friendly. Unfortunately, the hotel seems to have fallen into disrepair; it feels like all the focus is on the Ubud branch, not this Canggu location. The whole spot needs a lot of care. There was damp and mould in the cupboard, stained floors, and all the towels and bedding were stained. The toilet and sink looked like they had been cleaned with harsh chemicals and are deteriorating. The kitchen only had one fork, the safes were broken and there was no manual key. The aircon caused condensation on the doors, the varnish was peeling and staining the floor, which was unpleasant to step into after waking up. We tried to switch rooms because of construction next door, but the new room had no working plug sockets, a bathroom light switch hanging off the wall, and only one of three ceiling lights worked. It’s a shame because it could have been a lovely stay.
