I chose Hawkstone because of its convenient location for my visit, so I had no high expectations. Most guests were there for the golf course, which was quite pleasant. I stayed for dinner, bed and breakfast and was very impressed. Prices were reasonable, the food good, and the staff genuinely helpful, unlike the forced service you find in some chain hotels. I didn’t use most of the facilities, but everything I did use was excellent.

“Fantastic hotel and golf courses”

The breakfast was fantastic, the staff friendly, and the room spotless. I was staying the night before a wedding, so I came down early to play golf. I was disappointed I didn’t have time to play both courses.

“Lovely Staff and facilities uncomfortable beds”

The location is nice and isolated from the outside world, with golfers nearby. Breakfast was lovely, organized, and of good quality. The room feels a bit dated, and the pillow was rock solid, making it hard to sleep at night.

The location was good, but the first contact with the male front‑desk staff was poor because it was too much for him. The next days the front desk was manned by a friendly and helpful woman.

Breakfast was very good, fresh and tasty. The room was very spacious and I liked the USB sockets. Check‑in and check‑out were straightforward, and the male receptionist on arrival was very helpful. I liked the car charger facility; it took a bit to get it going but after that it was fine and helped us out for the return journey. It was a bit busy because there was a tournament, but that was to be expected.
