The staff were clean, warm, and very friendly. The shower pressure was fairly poor but it got the job done.
Everything about the hotel is great: the bold, brilliant staff at reception, especially Claudia who is lovely and helpful, and the bar and restaurant staff are polite and helpful. Nothing to complain about.
“Basic”
The bar/restaurant area looks quite new—clean, practical, and attractive. The small bedroom (no 9) that we requested as a twin was too tight to let the bathroom door open fully; the shower drain was blocked so we had to paddle every time we showered, which was unpleasant. There was a broken toilet roll holder, and the bathroom door frame and door showed signs of an ongoing leak. The carpet had clearly been wet repeatedly, and the outside corridor also showed signs of a leak.

The room was large, tastefully furnished, and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location on main street is convenient, and the onsite bar and restaurant have a warm ambience. On weekend nights, some noise from bars on the street behind the hotel can be heard.

This is the best hotel in Southport: the double budget room was spotless, clean, cosy, and the bed was comfortable. The bar and dining are fabulous, the staff are lovely, the location is good, and the front of the hotel outside is great to sit at. The menu of food is just perfect. Nothing to complain about—everything is perfect.
