Staff were super welcoming & friendly, and the rooms were quirky Pirate‑ship themed. The little beach was quiet and nice, and the food and drinks were good value and tasty. Only downside: having to leave after just 2 days!

Being a guest here was very pleasant; the Pirate team is delightful and the manager speaks excellent English, arranging everything you need, from motorcycles to ferry tickets to other islands. Breakfast is quick, rich, and very good. The spot is great, so close to the national park. If you don’t want to drive far to other beaches, the small, very clean beach in front of the resort is fine, or you can jump into the pool if you’re tired of saltwater. All in all, you can have a wonderful time in this very unusual boat‑shaped accommodation and feel at home with such lovely people. If you stay in Boat No. 5, feed the little cuddle cat that visits us every evening and purrs on our lap—so sweet. The houseboat is the most original accommodation with the coolest, prettiest interior and the best bathroom we’ve ever seen, only downside: you must never forget the spots where you have to bend in the lower level, otherwise you’ll get a bump. Very large people will feel like Gandalf walking into a Hobbit house on the ground floor.

This place has its own pace and charm. Expecting 5‑star service will disappoint, but embrace its quirks for a treat. The team is friendly, the food delicious, and the pool area lovely. The whole site is being upgraded continuously, like adding fridges and kettles to every room. It’s superb for peace and quiet, but you’ll need a scooter to get anywhere else. Overall we loved it.

The bedding was comfortable and the Thai staff were especially kind. The establishment deserves better description and upkeep. We stayed in a boat‑shaped bungalow and wished we’d known that the floor level had a very low ceiling and beams at head height were dangerous, and that the narrow, steep staircase to the room is not easy—impossible for elderly or mobility‑impaired guests. Maintenance is lacking: the pool isn’t kept clean, old furniture is deteriorating, and a broken billiard table is outdoors. The German manager is not professional at all, and it’s lucky a caring Thai assistant is there. Also note the place is far from everything; taxis take at least 15 minutes to reach Old Town, the only nearby attraction.
