The sea view from our room was stunning, and the rooftop bar, restaurant, and pool were a great bonus.
The room was really spacious and clean, which was a big plus - it felt like a home away from home.
The staff were always happy to help, and they even moved us to a different room when the building works got a bit too loud.

“Un hôtel bien situé avec de beaux atouts, mais quelques déceptions pour un 5 étoiles.”
We stayed at Dar El Marsa from 27 August to 1 September 2026, and the main advantage was its location. The hotel’s five‑star status and good services let us enjoy La Marsa’s lively evenings, with plenty of spots for drinks and dinner. The rooftop and pool are the real highlights: the view of La Marsa is lovely, the vibe relaxed, and the pool clean and well maintained. Rooms are spacious, nicely decorated, and come with comfortable bedding, and the room‑service is flawless. Our room faced the city, but because it was on the side we could still see the sea. One small issue: the minibar fridge needed a check‑up, as the drinks were barely cold. The spa and gym add value; just remember to book the sauna, which is free. The gym is modest—just a treadmill, a bike, and a weight tower—but it’s easily accessible and enough for a quick workout. Breakfast deserves a shout‑out to Shaïma, who was especially kind, helpful, and attentive. On the downside, we found two cockroaches in our third‑floor room and had to deal with them ourselves, which is unacceptable for a five‑star hotel. Rooftop drinks are pricey and the food quality sometimes falls short of the prices. Breakfast felt limited for a place of this caliber; the food wasn’t particularly tasty, hot dishes were often lukewarm, and overall quality was average. The dining area is a bit small and can get crowded quickly. Check‑out lacked courtesy: while we were a couple standing together at the front desk, they only asked my wife if her stay had been fine, as if I wasn’t there. I might have been invisible that day! 😊 We understand security checks are necessary, but their approach sometimes seemed a bit harsh. After five or six passes in a hotel that doesn’t have hundreds of guests, we would have appreciated a warmer greeting and a bit more personality from the staff. Finally, we were disappointed by the state of cleanliness on La Marsa beach and some surrounding areas in Sidi Bou Saïd; adults and children left papers, plastic bags, and bottles on the sand, showing little regard for the environment. These beautiful places deserve more respect and preservation.
“Amazing and comfortable”
The staff were very generous and helpful.
Breakfast was barely edible, with almost nothing available and what little there was not good. The room smelled damp and we were not comfortable at all. The pool was a tiny, cramped space, and parking was nonexistent.
“Très sympa”
The place feels almost family‑friendly and cozy, but there’s a noticeable lack of staff.
“Esperienza da non ripetere”
The room was spacious and equipped with all comforts, and breakfast was good. The staff and porters were exasperatingly insistent on tips, and the pool was practically usable only if you ate lunch, as the sun‑loungers were missing; moreover, on the first day at the restaurant we asked for a pasta dish without garlic, but they did not honor the request.
