We snagged a room with a jungle view, right on the beach and within walking distance of Playa del Carmen, making it easy to hop to Xcaret and other day trips; the variety of restaurants was solid and the food was good.

The biggest selling point of the place is the nature—wild plant life, animals—you can feel like you’re in a jungle. The staff are friendly, though it depends on who you meet—Alfonso at the reception is great. The rooms are decent but not huge. The room and bathroom were clean except for the ceiling. The all‑in‑all food was surprisingly tasty. The pool area was very clean, lounge chairs were mostly available, but you can’t arrive too late. The beach was large, clean, and mostly free of sargassum, unlike Playa where it was a plague. The animators were very engaged—admire their energy in the heat—but the music was a bit too loud during activities. No bugs. In the bathroom, the ceiling was dirty or even partially moldy and there was dust on the fan. The drinks at the Cozumel restaurant were labeled as juices but some were not drinkable. The vegetables at the restaurant were a bit bland. In the pool area, watch the floor near the towel dispensing zone—our kids got their feet scraped on the rough surface that covers the bottom, so I recommend water shoes. The staff don’t monitor lounge chair usage, and by about 10 am it’s already a problem. What saddened me was seeing two staff members on a hot day carrying bags of collected beach algae on their backs—some kind of tractor should be organized, because the competition nearby has professional equipment for removing sargassum from the beach.

I had a weird issue with the in-room fridge at this all-inclusive resort. Usually, it's stocked with a bunch of drinks like cola, 7Up, and mineral water, but ours was missing the mineral water. When I asked them to restock, they brought one can and insisted on swapping it out for another can that was already in the fridge.

This hotel is seriously beautiful - the grounds are full of wildlife and it's super clean everywhere, from the rooms to the beach. The breakfast buffet is really great and the beach is amazing, with crystal-clear water and white sand. That being said, my room had a great view of the beach but it was also right next to another resort, so we could hear their music pretty clearly, even with the windows closed.
