The location was 4 blocks from Bari Centrale (train station). The double room I got was small. The worst part was that the door/window to the balcony had no curtain or blinds, so neighbors could see us and you couldn’t sleep after sunrise. Breakfast was basic, made from low‑quality packaged flours. The staff kept insisting on paying the tourist tax whenever they could.

It was close to the center and the kitchen. I was lucky to have a bathroom in the room, it was clean, and we could use the kitchen. The host’s attitude was off; she told us we had to send documents via WhatsApp and call when we arrived. I called and she started questioning who we were, what we wanted, and claimed everything was booked and she didn’t understand what we were talking about… after I told her the street we were on, that we’d sent the documents and still wanted to stay, she said okay and closed the door. Luckily she sent the rest of the details on WhatsApp and we managed to get the room. Also, we couldn’t use the TV; I even took a picture of the batteries… breakfast was not really breakfast, just a few cheap, packaged items left in the room.

Everything was very clean, the location was excellent. The reception was terrible. When we arrived we had to call a number to open the building door and they never answered; we could get in because someone else was entering. Any request or message we sent to the manager was ignored.

The host was polite and the apartment felt mostly new, with the flat conveniently near the station. However, the floor wasn’t very clean—walking barefoot would have left marks—and there was no AC. The power sockets were far from the bed and only one outlet existed. In room 3, the bathroom was detached, so we had to manage keys in the middle of the night. The biggest issue was the noise from ongoing street works; I could only sleep about 2 hours, despite wearing earplugs and ANC headphones, because the room sits above a very busy street and isn’t well insulated.

I was surprised to find out it wasn’t a hotel but a B&B. The apartment was shared, the shower was too small, and the entrance lock was defective.
