The room sat at the back of the hotel and was lovely and spacious, complete with a wet room that was perfect for someone with a disability. I had to hunt for tea and coffee because the kettle didn’t come with any. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well. Wi‑Fi was a real problem—I couldn’t connect, which made it hard to keep in touch with my daughter. The food was decent, not spectacular but acceptable after a long day. The Wi‑Fi kept dropping out. The evening meal was okay, not our usual fare but the portions were generous and the staff were friendly. Breakfast could have been better; it started with a buffet but only had cereal, and the full breakfast was okay, though the poached egg tasted like vinegar. The menu promised a choice of coffee, but it turned out to be pour‑over coffee that ran out. With only one person on the breakfast service, food like toast stayed cold.

Because my wife has mobility issues, I asked for a ground‑floor room with a walk‑in shower and was given a disabled room with a wet room. The space was large and clean, meeting most of our needs, and the staff—especially Sai—were very helpful and obliging. The wet room, however, lacked a handrail inside the curtained shower area, so my wife couldn’t stand on her own while I assisted her. There was no shelf or place to keep personal items, and the sink was a tiny handwash sink that made washing my face difficult.

It was ok for one night breakfast was good. The fact that you couldn’t get a meal after 5pm on Sunday think if this should be on the website or in the information so you can decide we ended up going to NorthAllerton to get something. Curtains in the bathroom needed cleaning as they have mould on and the hand basin is loose
