Pousada dos Girassois Trancoso

The breakfast was excellent; the girl who served it was meticulous and very attentive, and her husband was also a 10/10. They were always helpful and accommodating. The pousada Girassóis fell short on the facilities. I had specifically requested a double room for an adult and a teenager, yet they gave me a double bed. When I asked on arrival to change it to two single beds, they didn’t comply. In the triple room, the single beds were awful—completely uncomfortable, with a wooden piece in the middle that looked broken and caused pain. The TV had no signal; the staff tried to fix it but it failed again. The owner seemed serious, but the man started cleaning around 5 am, disturbing my sleep—a total lack of respect, with noise from his car and the whole commotion. I was told there was no parking, yet we had to move our car so the owner could leave with his. The triple room had a strong mold smell; I was told to keep it open while I was outside to see if the odor would lessen, but it didn’t improve, and I didn’t like the room being open while I was away.

The inn is basic but set on a quiet hillside street; we stayed in a double room on the first floor and found the breakfast average, while the staff were helpful and the air‑conditioning worked and the shower gave hot water. However, debris fell from the ceiling several times, Wi‑Fi was only available on the ground floor and the TV in the room had no internet and only two over‑the‑air channels, and the garage parked cars in a single line, making it hard to get anyone out without some organization.

The price was reasonable and the staff were friendly. The breakfast was very plain, and the mattress was too soft.

Joelma was very caring and kind. The location was great, close to everything. The lodge is simple but has all the necessary facilities. I have nothing to complain about.
