The room turned out better than I expected for that part of Richmond Highway, a neighborhood I’d usually avoid because it’s considered the “hood” of Alexandria, but as a black person from a similar background I gave it a chance. It was cleaner than an extended‑stay property, though a bit of hair in the tub and on the floor slipped through the cleaning. The layout only lets you reach the rooms by car, with the entrance outside like a motel; I’d booked for breakfast included, but I didn’t drive and was too exhausted to walk back to the office for breakfast.

The location is about a 30‑minute drive to downtown DC, breakfast was fine, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The carpeted floor was a drawback.
