The place is stylish with a touch of history. The room was very comfortable, with fabulous bedding and pillows. The location is great, so you can walk everywhere. Nothing—everything suited me perfectly.

The building is very beautiful and the room is also very beautiful. It can be noisy if people sit in the garden and chat (but that’s probably normal in the UK).

The rooms were beautiful and the sunken design in the grounds was clever, making everything feel very comfortable. I liked staying in a historic building that had a recent controversial past, and the way the story and art tackled that complexity was intriguing. The coffee shop was a simple but pleasant experience, and I enjoyed sitting outside next to the wildflower garden even though the drought made it a bit dry. The only surprise was how much the neighbors’ door rattles echoed into our room, but that didn’t stop us from having a wonderful stay!
