The location is good, and you can rent a scooter on site at a reasonable price. We were traveling long in Sulawesi and didn’t expect luxury, so we’re not upset that there’s no hot water or a standard toilet. We stayed two nights and the bathroom was never cleaned; at least the bucket with used toilet paper should be disposed of regularly. The table in the communal kitchen was never cleaned. We had no shower towels and had to ask for them. Breakfast was included, with a choice of pancakes or omelette, but the portions were so small nobody was satisfied. They offer tours to beaches, etc., but don’t communicate the prices. Overall communication was rather inadequate. They arranged a taxi to the harbor, which arrived 20 minutes late, and then we had to pick up three others, which should have been communicated.

The spot was fantastic. Dinner was incredibly good: local, hearty, homemade. The boat tour offered by Nata Homestay was great. Everyone who welcomed us was lovely. The laundry service was convenient and very fast.

We stayed here and the experience surpassed all our expectations thanks to the wonderful local family running it. They’re super adorable and made the stay smooth from the first minute. Everything in the house is immaculate and absolutely clean. What makes this place unique is how they go all out for guests: • Stress‑free logistics: they helped with all transport, both arrival and departure from the island. • Explore at your own pace: they arranged motorbike rentals to tour the island and gave the best beach recommendations. • Authentic, self‑organized tours: they run their own trips with full schedule freedom at a fair, very economical price. Having grown up there, they know every remote and secret corner. • Smooth communication: their English is excellent, so it was easy to understand their tips and stories about each place we visited. The king of the house: I can’t help but give a special shout‑out to “Fano” (sorry if misspelled), the little boy and the real king of the house. At only 6 years old, he speaks correct English for his age and explains all the nearby marine wildlife with a passion that steals your heart. He’s charming! Food: the meals are delicious and very affordable! We ate breakfast and dinner there every day and every dish was great, full of local homemade flavor. You leave Banggai not only having seen an amazing place but feeling like you’ve made friends there. 100% recommended! We’ll return without hesitation.
