Central location. Old, small, no button for the air‑conditioner. The broken window was open. And very expensive.
I lodged a formal complaint about the apartment’s poor preparation and serious safety and hygiene lapses. The property operates fully self‑service (remote check‑in, no on‑site reception). Because my schedule was tight, the place was used solely for sleeping, but the technical and sanitary condition we found should never have been allowed for guests: > Direct safety hazard: Uninsulated electrical cables protrude from the air‑conditioning unit, and the unit itself is malfunctioning. > Violation of basic hygiene standards: The bathroom was not cleaned before check‑in. The shower drain was clogged, causing water to back up, and the toilet seat was damaged and unusable. > Poor technical state: Visible neglect of door hardware and overall lack of maintenance. These defects were not created during my stay – they resulted from the host’s failure to verify the property before issuing access codes. Guests should not have to perform basic cleanliness and safety checks.
