The staff were all friendly. Even though it’s in the mountains, it’s quiet and charming, and I especially liked the room—good view, spacious, and clean. Compared to the rest of the facilities, the bath area was relatively underwhelming. I can’t recommend it strongly for those who want to enjoy the onsen; I remember there’s no private bath, the public bath is small, and the outdoor pool is also cramped. If you’re willing to step away from the core of a ryokan that prioritizes hot springs, it’s okay.

“Good location and good food”

The spot is great if you’re heading to the Vine Bridge, and the valley view at night is stunning. The local dishes at the restaurant are something you can’t find elsewhere in Iya, and the food itself was excellent. The front desk and serving staff were not only polite but also friendly, and they offered free coffee and massage chairs. The room was large and roomy, but it had a musty smell that made me cough for half the night until I opened the windows. A dehumidifier in the corner eventually helped, though it was noisy.

“Relaxing Ryokan”

The room was lovely, and the onsen on site was a highlight; dinner and breakfast were both very tasty.

The review mentioned many stairs, but I didn’t feel it was that much. The surroundings were quiet, the room was clean and comfortable, and the food was delicious. Even though there were larger hotels nearby, this small-scale property offered well‑executed service that suited us perfectly. It would have been better if the morning bath time had been a bit earlier.
