“Excelente ubicación”
The location is fantastic, and the host gave us a very good isolated room. Breakfast was good, and Antitrion provided us with several useful tips.

The best hostel I stayed in Brazil! The location is incredibly central, the staff and owner Paulo are all amazing and super friendly, the rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious, and the space has an incredible social vibe fostered by the staff through conversation and the WhatsApp group as well as the daily free caipirinhas and the free breakfast (both are delicious!). Just keep up the amazing work you're all doing!!!

The banana jam is unforgettable—can't get it out of my head. The WhatsApp group was packed with useful tips and info, and the location was spot on. The caipirinha? Absolutely great. Nothing to complain about.

I’ve never met a hostel owner as kind and patient as Paulo at Hostel Galeria 13; he consistently goes out of his way to make guests feel welcome, especially when I was unwell upon arrival in Salvador. He listens carefully to any question, offers thoughtful, useful advice, and keeps in touch via WhatsApp with personalized daily suggestions. The location is great, but it’s Paulo’s warmth and hospitality that truly made my stay special. If you’re heading to Salvador, stay at Hostel Galeria 13 for a great base and genuine care.

The hotel sits perfectly in the historic center of Salvador, and they serve caípirinha every day starting at 5.00pm. I can’t understand why, in the 21st century, a worldwide‑accommodating hotel would still refuse credit cards—after three weeks in Brazil, this was the only place that did, even for renting a parasol. It’s truly disappointing.
