We enjoyed a wonderful stay at this beautiful historic Masseria. The house is full of character, with old family portraits, paintings, remnants of the original kitchen, and many other hints of its long history. We were fascinated by the black horses, a small chapel, and authentic trulli. From the windows we loved watching goats and sheep crossing the vast grounds with their shepherds and dogs. On clear days we could even see the sea around Taranto and as far as Calabria! The place grew more appealing with each passing day. Carlos and Simonetta were incredibly welcoming, and we really enjoyed hearing their stories about the family and the town’s history. Breakfast prepared by Yumi was another highlight, not only for the food but also for the chance to meet other guests. By the end of our stay we felt as if we had stepped into another era.
